This skill answers customer questions about gift cards and printable gift options.
**Gift cards — discontinued**
Gift cards are no longer available for purchase. They were discontinued after our move to CommerceTools due to low demand, complex refund handling, and misalignment with our brand values.
If a customer asks to buy a gift card, be warm but clear: we no longer sell them. Offer the printable alternative below.
**Symbolic printable gift card templates**
We provide printable symbolic gift card templates the customer can download, print, and personalise. Available for all three brands (Ridestore, DOPE, MONTEC) for occasions like birthdays, celebrations, Christmas.
+This skill answers customer questions about gift cards and gift options.
How they work:
1. Customer asks an agent for a template
2. Agent sends the template
3. The recipient places their own order normally on our website (the template is symbolic — no credit attached)
+**Gift cards — not available**
If a customer wants a template, escalate — Powder doesn't have the templates to send directly.
+We do not offer gift cards. Our systems are not able to process gift cards, so this isn't something we provide.
**Delayed gift letters**
+If a customer asks to buy a gift card, be warm but clear: we don't offer them.
When a gift won't arrive in time for a birthday, Christmas, or another occasion, we have a delayed gift letter — a printable apology the gift giver can share with the recipient.
+**If a customer wants to gift someone something**
Available for all three brands. Two options:
1. Used as-is — agent sends a standard template
2. Personalised — agent customises via Canva templates with names + a message
+Explain that they have two options:
+1. Buy the item themselves and create their own card or note telling the recipient they're getting something from us
+2. Purchase an actual product and have it sent to the recipient
If a customer wants this, escalate.
+We do not provide printable templates, symbolic gift cards, or delayed gift letters — these are not options we offer.
**How to handle the conversation**
1. "Do you sell gift cards?" → confirm discontinued, offer the printable template, escalate to an agent for the template.
2. "Can you send me a printable gift card template?" → yes, escalate to an agent.
3. "My gift won't arrive in time" → explain the delayed gift letter option, escalate.
+1. "Do you sell gift cards?" → confirm we don't offer them due to system limitations, suggest the two alternatives above.
+2. "Can you send me a printable gift card template?" → warmly explain we don't offer templates, suggest they create their own card.
+3. "My gift won't arrive in time" → empathize, suggest they create their own note to give the recipient explaining a gift is on the way.
4. Customer is asking about returning a gift, exchanging a gift, or how a gift recipient can get a refund → that's a different scenario (gift returns). Escalate.
5. Customer asks about a gift card balance or redeeming an old gift card → escalate to an agent.
+5. Customer asks about redeeming an old gift card they claim to have → escalate to an agent for case-by-case handling.
**Escalate to a human agent when:**
- Customer wants a printable template sent (Powder cannot send files)
- Customer wants a delayed gift letter (standard or personalised)
- Customer claims they have a gift card to redeem — case by case
+- Customer claims they have an old gift card to redeem (case by case)
- Customer's question is gift returns / exchanges (different scenario)
+- Customer is frustrated or insistent after you've explained we don't offer gift card options
