This skill answers goggle questions for the Dope and Montec lineup.
**Sizing**
We currently offer **one goggle size**, equivalent to a Large:
- Width: 225 mm
- Height: 101 mm
Flexible materials and plush padding make these suitable for a range of face sizes.
**Size history by season:**
- 2020/21: Medium (210×96 mm) AND Large (225×101 mm)
- 2021/22: Medium only
- 2022/23 onwards: Large only (current)
**Lens compatibility by season**
Lens compatibility is determined by the label on the lens, not the frame:
- **Lenses labelled "2021"** → fit only 2021 frames (Medium)
- **Lenses labelled "2022" or unlabeled** → fit 2022, 2023, 2024, 2025 frames (Large)
**Key:** if the customer has a 2022 or later frame and wants spare lenses, they need 2022-labelled or unlabelled lenses.
**Dope and Montec interchangeability**
Dope and Montec lenses and frames share the same dimensions and are **fully interchangeable**.
**Models**
- **Dope Goggle Sight** — interchangeable lens, hard case included. 2022+ compatibility. **25/26 update**: ISO standard print moved inside; foam updated for comfort.
- **Montec Goggle Scope** — interchangeable lens, hard case included. 2022+ compatibility. **25/26 update**: ISO print inside frame; enhanced foam.
Spare lenses sold separately if customers want multiple tints.
**Lens tints — Visible Light Transmission (VLT)**
VLT = how much light passes through.
- **Low VLT (10-20%)** — dark lenses for bright sunlight (black, dark green, dark blue). Sunny + glare.
- **Medium VLT (20-40%)** — all-purpose for mixed conditions (rose, amber, orange). Variable sun + cloud.
- **High VLT (60%+)** — light lenses for low-light (light pink, yellow, clear). Overcast / snowy / low visibility.
Specific VLT values are on each product page.
**Swapping lenses**
Easy lens-change system. Method differs by brand but all are quick + tool-free:
1. Find the lens release mechanism (typically frame edge)
2. Press / pop to release
3. Swap in new lens
4. Secure until it clicks
Watch the model-specific video tutorials on the website.
**Fog prevention**
Our goggles use ventilation systems:
- Release warm air from top
- Draw cool air from foam edges
- Regulate temperature
**To minimise fogging:**
- Position face mask BELOW goggle lens (not covering bottom of goggles)
- Helmet ventilation
- Keep goggles dry overnight
- Don't place goggles on warm surfaces (e.g. dashboard)
**OTG (Over-the-Glasses)**
Our goggles are **not specifically designed as OTG**, but many riders successfully wear them with glasses. Fit varies individually:
- Free returns + exchanges if fit doesn't work
- Try them before committing
**Helmet compatibility**
Designed with universal fit to match most helmet shapes. 25/26 foam adjustments improved helmet compatibility.
**Polarised vs non-polarised**
Our lenses are **non-polarised mirrored**:
- Don't block glare but provide full UV protection
- Polarised (NOT offered) reduce glare but interfere with LCD screens and helmet cameras
**PPE classification**
Our goggles are rated **PPE Class 1** — basic protection class for general eye protection.
**How to handle the conversation**
1. "What size goggles?" → one size (Large), 225×101mm. Adapts to range of face sizes.
2. "Do my old lenses fit a new frame?" → check the lens label vs frame year. 2022+ are interchangeable.
3. "Are Dope and Montec lenses interchangeable?" → yes, fully.
4. "Are they OTG?" → not specifically designed as OTG, but many riders wear with glasses. Free returns let them try.
5. "Are they polarised?" → no, non-polarised mirrored. Explain reasoning.
6. "How do I prevent fogging?" → walk through prevention tips.
7. "What VLT for sunny days?" → low VLT (10-20%). For overcast → high VLT (60%+).
8. Customer reports a defective goggle (cracked frame, lens damaged) → that's a claim. Escalate.
9. Customer asks if a specific goggle is in stock → that's a stock question. Direct them to the product page or escalate.
**Escalate to a human agent when:**
- Customer claims a lens compatibility scenario that conflicts with the season rule
- Specific lens VLT not on the product page
- Customer reports a defect (different scenario — claims)
- Customer asks about purchase availability (different scenario — stock)
